CENTRE

The Pakistan Chowk Community Centre was a two roomed space designed to encourage community engagement. It gave the public a place to host formal and informal meetings throughout the week. Housed on the first floor of Old Town’s historic Sultani Mahal Building and being in close proximity to Pakistan Chowk, the Centre would actively facilitate art ,writing and discourse.

However, due to the complications that accompanied covid 19, the physical space had to be closed. Nevertheless, we are taking advantage of digital platforms, and are continuing research, advocacy and cultural programs through various models like educational and training internship programs.

The rooms were divided between:

BAITHAK

  • Wi-Fi enabled.

  • Legal counsellors were present at the Centre, once a week to provide advice to the locals free of cost.

  • Act as a reading room

RESEARCH WORKSTATION

  • Equipped with chairs, tables and books to assist people who prefer a quiet space to do their own work.

  • Wi-Fi enabled.

  • Round-table meetings, study groups and reading groups can take place in this space.
